Nitish Kumar consumes ‘bhang’ before coming to assembly: Rabri Devi accuses Bihar CM of disrespecting women | India News

NEW DELHI: RJD MLC Rabri Devi on Wednesday attacked Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar for allegedly disrespected women and accused him of consuming intoxicating substance before entering the assembly.
After staging a walk out from the assembly with other RJD MLAs, former chief minister claimed that BJP leaders are asking him to say disrespectful things against women.
“Nitish Kumar consumes ‘bhaang’ and comes to the Assembly. He disrespects the women, including me… He should see the kind of work we did when we were in power. What the people around him say, he speaks the same. His own party members and some of the BJP leaders are asking him to say such things,” Rabri said.
This comes days after Nitish lost his cool in the legislative council surprised many with his selection of words to refer to former chief ministers Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi.
“Jab iske husband doob gaye to apni wife ko bana diya (When her husband began to sink, he installed his wife (in the CM’s post))”, Nitish said referring to Lalu Prasad’s move to make Rabri Devi the chief minister after he was forced to resign from the post following an arrest warrant in a fodder scam case.
Earlier, following Nitish’s remarks on Rabri, Tejashwi Yadav criticised the comments and reminded Kumar that Rabri Devi was first woman CM of Bihar.
“CM Nitish Kumar should remember that Rabri Devi is the first female CM of Bihar…There is nothing much to comment anything on him. His deteriorating health signals that he is no longer able to run Bihar. The designation of CM has dignity. The language which he used for Rabri Devi is not good,” he said.
Before this episode, Nitish had a heated exchange with leader of opposition in the assembly Tejashwi Yadav.
Chief minister claimed that he “made RJD supremo Lalu Yadav what he became” and invoked the past records of the Rashtriya Janata Dal tenure from 1994 to 2005.
As Kumar was making his speech, Tejashwi interrupted him, over which Nitish said, “What was there in Bihar earlier? It was me who made your (Tejashwi Yadav) father what he became. Even the people from your caste were asking me why I was doing this, but I still supported him.”
