It was embarrassing to be told that the staff of the health center did not have any tools, scaffolds or blades.

Surat : Ichchapore Ayushman Bharat Primary Care Center nurses have been exposed for gross negligence. A case has come to know that, the woman labour working in RJD Textile Park who had given birth in a car was sent without any first aid after reaching the health center. Not only this but keeping the cord in the compound without clamping (without cutting the umbilical cord between mother and child) became a topic of discussion. However, the family breathed a sigh of relief as the 108 came for help and removed umilical cord between child and the mother after immediately taken to the Civil Hospital for treatment. Gunjan Vithani, a contractor, said that it was embarrassing to be told that the staff of the health center did not have any tools, scaffolds or blades.

Moreover, Contractor said that his site is running at Ichchapore RJD Textile Park. A pregnant woman who was working was put in a car and taken to the nearest hospital this afternoon, when she suddenly had pain. It was then that the delivery took place on the way. As soon as the bus reached the Ichchapore Ayushman Health Center, the attendants shouted and heard the reply that they were not asking for a stent. Then we were told that we had no equipment and were told to take it somewhere else, saying that the delivery had taken place in the car.

He further said that, no doctor was present when he rushed to the health center after hearing such shameful things. Not only this, but the attendants did not come to help even after seeing the pregnant mother and the baby lying in a condition connected to the umbilical cord in the car. The fellow labor lady said give us a blade and we will cut the umbilical cord between the mother and the child and clamp it, the hostess said there is no blade, meanwhile a video was also made of friction with the hostess.

In this matter, it was further said that after this incident which happened in the afternoon, the ambulance arrived within 5-7 minutes of calling 108 and after cutting the umbilical cord between the pregnant mother and the baby while they were in the car, they gave first aid to both and left to take them to Civil. What was surprising was that the staff of 108 knew how to clamp the cord and the nurses of Bharat Ayushman Health Center did not, it was something to be taken seriously.
