Tomorrow the Chief Minister will launch, diagnosis of diseases from head to toe
Vadodara: MRI facility is going to be started at Sayaji Hospital in the city. An MRI machine has been provided by the state government at a cost of Rs 9.37 crore. This machine will produce reports at a very negligible rate excluding patients requiring MRI due to accidents or other diseases.
The technician said that, the state-of-the-art machine will carry out an MRI from head to toe. This machine will be launched at Sayaji Hospital by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on June 29. At that time, along with the hospital authorities, the district collector visited the radiology department of the hospital today and verified the entire system. He also made necessary suggestions regarding the Chief Minister’s visit.
Generally, even in concessional rate test, MRI test is done from Rs 5000 to Rs 25,000. Then this service will be provided in Sayaji Hospital for only 2000 rupees. Doctor of Radiology Department said that, about 15 patients have to go out for MRI every day, which facility will now be available.
BPL card holders will get free service
Brain disease, cancer, fetal malformation can be detected by MRI. The service will be free for BPL card holders.
MRI will be operational
The state government has started the facility in Ahmedabad. Also operations are going on in Valsad, Rajkot, Surat, Bhavnagar and Vadodara. After the launch on June 29 at Sayaji Hospital, the MRI machine will soon be operational at Gotri as well.
