Ahmedabad: A woman from Prahladnagar filed a complaint with the Anandnagar police on Tuesday, accusing her domestic helper of stealing gold jewellery valued at Rs 3.9 lakh from her residence.
The complainant, Khushbu Domadia, who resides at Safal Parivesh near Corporate Road, works as a nutrition advisor. She employed Anita Narayan Keer from Udaipur, Rajasthan, as a domestic help. Keer worked at her residence for the past year. The FIR stated that Keer resided in the servant quarters within the flat.
On April 14, Domadia left her house at 8 am with her children, while her husband left an hour earlier. Upon returning home at 10 am, she noticed that Keer was not there. Initially, she assumed Keer went out for some work. However, she later discovered that gold jewellery from her bedroom cupboard and safe was missing.
The stolen valuables included five gold pieces weighing approximately 60g and a pair of gold earrings weighing around 20g. When Domadia tried to contact Keer, her phone was switched off.
Subsequently, Domadia registered a theft complaint against Keer at Anandnagar police station.
