Ahmedabad: One person, Ashok Prajapati, died while another received minor injuries when a 19-year-old youth rammed his SUV into a residence in Bhatt village. The youth was arrested on Saturday.
The incident took place late on Friday night when the youth, Ansh Thakore, lost control of the car and rammed into the gate and boundary wall of Natwar Prajapati’s residence. After the accident, the youth left the spot.
The car damaged the boundary wall and the gate of the house, forcing the residents and cops to call for cranes to move the car out of the house. The cops said that Prajapati, who was standing near the gate, was injured and was rushed to a hospital, but he died on the way.
The cops said that one more person received minor injuries. Locals allege that Thakore was underage. Aslali police have started an investigation into the accident.
Aslali police inspector V Savseta said that Ansh has been arrested. “The youth claims that he had a licence but was not carrying it with him. He has been arrested, and soon we will ask him to produce it,” said Savseta.
On Nov 26, a businessman from Thaltej, 41, rammed his high-end car into six vehicles on Bopal-Ambli Road, injuring one person while five others narrowly escaped death. The accused, Ripal Panchal, a resident of Tulip Bungalows in Thaltej, was drunk at the time of the accident.
