Over 3,800 police personnel, 400 CCTVs deployed ahead of Coldplay concert in Ahmedabad | Ahmedabad News


NEW DELHI: The Gujarat police have made extensive arrangements for the highly anticipated Coldplay concert, which is scheduled to be held today and tomorrow at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, an official said.
JCP Ahmedabad police, Neeraj Kumar Badgujar announced the deployment of more than 3,800 police personnel equipped with metal detectors for security measures.
The security arrangements include installation of 400 CCTV cameras for surveillance, with plain clothes officers and female police staff assigned to ensure spectator safety.
“Over 3,800 police personnel have been deployed, along with metal detectors and plainclothes officers, including female police officers and staff. The crime branch team and other branch teams are also stationed at the venue.
Additionally, a network of over 400 CCTV cameras has been set up to monitor the event,” JCP Badgujar said.
He further stated, “The police will conduct thorough checks on every individual entering the venue, with special barricading arrangements in place to ensure that no one enters without being checked.”
The Ahmedabad police commissioner conducted a security review of the event arrangements on Friday.
During the venue inspection, the police commissioner examined all security points, including the CCTV control room and police control room.
As part of their “Music of the Spheres World Tour“, Coldplay is performing in India. The band’s performances at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium occurred on January 19 and 21, followed by scheduled shows at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25 and 26.
