Gandhinagar: Senior IAS officer Pankaj Joshi on Friday took over as the new chief secretary of Gujarat following the retirement of Raj Kumar from the top post. Kumar was greeted by senior bureaucrats and heads of various departments. He conveyed his wishes to Joshi for his future endeavours.
Joshi said, Gujarat is leading in various industrial sectors, including ease of doing business and foreign direct investment. “Over the past two-and-a- half decades, Gujarat has seen significant development, and accelerating this growth will be our primary focus,” Joshi said.
He added, “The vision of both the Centre and state govt is aligned towards realising the goal of ‘self-reliant India through self-reliant Gujarat’. The state govt has prepared a ‘Developed Gujarat 2047‘ vision document based on themes of ‘Earning Well’ and ‘Living Well’, which will guide the roadmap.” Originally from Nainital, Uttarakhand, Joshi joined the Gujarat cadre in 1989. He holds a BTech in civil engineering and an MTech in water resources. He has served in various key departments.TNN
