Surat people are treated as if they are criminals as some major terrorists; request to take this seriously.
Surat : Crime is increasing day by day in Gujarat and criminals are adopting new tactics to commit crime, yet the Home Minister does not get tired of praising the police, now the Surat MLA has written a letter to the Home Minister that after the Vansad Tollnaka, the car owners of Surat Passing are being harassed by the police.
Additionally, Kumar Kanani, a BJP MLA from Surat’s Varachha seat, wrote a letter to the Home Minister Harsh-Sanghvi saying that the car owners of Surat Passing are being harassed by the police after the city’s Vasand Tollnaka. He submitted on behalf of the locals that due to police checking, the motorists are facing trouble. Kumar Kanani has said in the letter that regarding the complaint received by me, the Anand district police have been standing in a crowd of 15-20 people after the toll booth with the owners of private four-wheelers going from Surat to Saurashtra for the past few years, under the pretext of checking the vehicle, women, daughters and wives in the family. Accompanying vehicles are stopped at the side and documents are demanded. Legally, no one should have any objection to the police doing their duty, but for the sole purpose of vandalism, the vehicle owners are harassed by talking to them in any language. And vehicle owners are harassed just for extorting money. And if any complaint is made by the vehicle owners or they are asked to talk to someone on the mobile then the mobile is also confiscated. So they are treated as if they are criminals as some major terrorists. So my request is to take this matter seriously and dispose of it immediately.
