Ahmedabad: Anand Niketan School in Satellite received consecutive notices from the DEO — first for functioning during Mahavir Jayanti, and then for conducting classes on Ambedkar Jayanti — which was a designated holiday. The Ahmedabad city district education officer (DEO) has sought CCTV recordings from the institution.
The official notice from the Ahmedabad city DEO mentioned receiving a telephone complaint regarding educational activities being conducted during the public holiday. The notice demanded CCTV footage for April 14, starting from 7am onwards. The school was instructed to present evidence of any educational activities by the 15th, with a warning that non-compliance within the specified time frame would result in regulatory action.
In the previous week, three schools, including Anand Niketan School, faced complaints for operating during Mahavir Jayanti holiday.
