Ahmedabad: Silver prices soared to an all-time high of Rs 1 lakh per kg in Ahmedabad on Thursday, driven by strong safe-haven demand. Gold also touched a fresh peak of Rs 91,500 per 10g, reflecting the ongoing rally in precious metals.
Market analysts attribute the surge to global economic uncertainty, particularly concerns over US President Donald Trump’s tariff plans for next week, which could stoke inflationary pressures. Investors are flocking to gold and silver as a hedge against volatility, pushing prices higher.
“Sustained international demand and geopolitical tensions have further strengthened precious metal prices. With inflation fears and economic instability, both gold and silver are expected to remain on an upward trajectory,” said a city-based bullion dealer.
