The work of Surat airport is going fast day by day,more facility will be increase
It is likely that the increase in facilities at Surat airport will start in the next few days. The works for the development of Surat airport have progressed in works including terminal building, parallel taxi track and canopy. Terminal building expansion work at Surat airport is 94% complete. However, airport Authority of India has given detailed information about the development works taking place at the airport, in which it is stated that work has been started for development works including terminal building, apron and parallel taxi track at a cost of Rs 353.25 crore.
Further, 138.48 crore terminal building work is in final stage which is 94 percent complete. Apron widening and parallel taxi track work will be done at a cost of Rs 63.13 crore, of which up to 72 per cent work has been completed. Work on the canopy in front of the terminal building at a cost of Rs 15.57 crore is also progressing rapidly.
It was further informed that after the completion of the work of the terminal building, the capacity to hold passengers every hour will be up to 1800.
Apart from that, passengers will get facilities including 5 aerobridges and 5 casuals. It is worth mentioning that, apart from the cities for which flights are currently flying from Surat airport, flights are being demanded for some cities as well.
Finally, International flights are expected to be started by airlines after the completion of development works including terminal building at the airport.
