Cleaning in 9 lake gardens, more than 6 sewage treatment plants also
A team from Gandhinagar visited Surat today for the first time under the ‘Sujalam Suflam Jal Abhiyan Yojana’ of the Gujarat Government. The team also inspected the maintenance of the 150 mld waste water plant at Katargam and the Kosad Lake along with the ongoing cleaning of vegetation including aquatic plants in Tapi river at Walak and Sarthana in the city.
In the year 2018, ‘Sujlam Suflam Jal Abhiyan Yojana’ was implemented. Under this scheme, works including rivers, ponds, creeks, water treatment plan and its maintenance were covered, under which Surat Municipal Corporation had placed 28 works, including cleaning of water bodies in Tapi river, cleaning of 9 lake gardens, more than 6 sewage water treatment plants and maintenance. Performed operations and cleaning of over head and underground tanks.
