One phase is from Kapodra to railway station while the second phase is from railway station to Chowkbazar.

In the next year 2024, the city of Surat is going to get the gift of metro train. The ongoing work in Surat city is currently in progress. Two corridors of metro train are being built in Surat city. One of the two corridors is likely to be opened to the public by December 2024.

1.50 km tunnel ready

Two corridors are under progress in the city to run metro trains in Surat. In the first phase, Sarthana to Dream City and Saroli to Bhensan corridor are currently in full speed. The route between Sarthana and Dream City will be 21.61 km.

Both corridors set to be commissioned by March 2025

The corridor between Sarthana and Dream City will be known as Diamond Corridor. While the second corridor will be between Bhesan and Saroli. This corridor will be 16 km long. It will be known as Saroli to Bhesan Corridor Textile Corridor.

The Metro officials have shown the readiness to start both the corridors by March 2025. The deadline for starting the corridor from Sarathana to Dream City is given by December 2024. Where the work is being done in full speed by the system to run metro trains in Surat.

In the corridor between Sarthana and Dream City, only 6.47 km out of 21.61 km will be underground while the rest of the corridor will be an elevated Cori Door. This corridor will have 20 metro stations from Sarthana to Dream City.

Further, Bhensan to Saroli corridor will have 18 metro stations which will be fully elevated corridor. The junction station of the metro station will be Majura Gate from where metro transfer in both directions can be done on any route.

Mass transportation will increase

Mass transportation will increase in Surat city as the city of Surat is going to receive the gift of metro train. At present, along with BRTS, CT bus facility, the metro facility will provide a lot of convenience to the city dwellers in the coming days.
