Gandhinagar: The Gujarat govt is set to unveil the Suryarc Heritage Circuit, a cultural tourism route encompassing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hometown of Vadnagar along with the attractions of Patan, Modhera and Taranga.
This curated pathway will present a journey through Gujarat’s ancient legacy, top sources in the govt said.
A senior official privy to the development stated, “In recent years, Vadnagar, Modhera, Patan and Taranga have received substantial development initiatives to enhance tourism and local amenities, prompting the govt to promote the new Suryarc Heritage Circuit to showcase Gujarat’s rich heritage. The heritage circuit is expected to be unveiled shortly.”
Sources said the aim of introducing the circuit is to showcase the amalgamation of ‘devotion, architecture and artistry, shaped through centuries of tradition’. “With its distinctive combination of an ancient living city, Unesco World Heritage sites and spiritual sanctuaries, the Suryarc Heritage Circuit possesses the elements to rank among India’s most distinguished cultural routes,” the sources said.
Vadnagar will serve as the circuit’s cornerstone, with Patan, Modhera and Taranga within convenient proximity, establishing an ideal weekend tourism destination explorable within two-three days. Ancient gateways, fortifications and archaeological discoveries substantiate Vadnagar’s uninterrupted millennial legacy, they added.
Govt officials said this heritage circuit connects 2,500 years of history whilst fostering sustainable tourism and community development and the govt has already implemented projects to attract tourists at these sites while other projects are also under implementation.
