Ahmedabad: The State Monitoring Cell arrested two Nigerians and recovered prohibited drugs, amphetamine and methamphetamine, valued at Rs 1.26 crore from them. SMC officials said the suspects were identified as Kelichiku Aze Francis, 40, a resident of Vasai, Maharashtra, and Akimwanmi Taiwo David, 28, a resident of Palghar, Maharashtra. The duo had 252 grams and 14 milligrams of the two prohibited drugs in their possession.
The SMC received a tip-off that two Nigerian individuals were transporting a consignment of prohibited drugs in a taxi. They were expected to deliver it near the railway overbridge in Vapi. Based on this information, the two were arrested by the SMC team.
During interrogation, the suspects revealed that an individual named Chachu from Mumbai had sent the consignment of prohibited drugs after an unknown person from Vapi ordered it. Both Chachu and the unidentified person have been declared wanted in the case.
