Ahmedabad: Two youths were arrested on Saturday for stealing 11 vehicles from various parts of the city.
The Navrangpura police arrested Daksh Trivedi, 24, and Prahadsinh Solanki, 25, based on a tip-off. They had allegedly stolen vehicles from areas falling under Navrangpura, Vastrapur, Gujarat University and Ghatlodia police stations.
The Navrangpura police said, “During surveillance, our staff received information that Trivedi was involved in vehicle thefts in the western part of the city. The team kept a watch and arrested Trivedi from Mithakhali.”
The police claimed that he was driving a two-wheeler that had been stolen.
During interrogation, he confessed to have stolen 11 two-wheelers. “The modus operandi was simple: Trivedi would steal the vehicle using a master key and then sell it to Solanki,” said police.
During interrogation, the duo confessed to four thefts in Vastrapur, three in Navrangpura and two each in Ghatlodia and Gujarat University areas. Of these 11 cases, they stole a two-wheeler from Navrangpura and another from Vastrapur in Jan this year. The remaining nine were stolen in 2024.
