It has been experimented by Electronics and Communication Engineer Shashank Chaubey on the roof of his house in Vadodara city.
Moreover, a city engineer has developed a special method of agriculture without soil. Using the waste produced by the fish, he has started producing vegetables by building a small paddy on the roof of a building.
This engineer has grown vegetables at home with aquaponics as an alternative to traditional farming methods. Also, the vegetables produced in this pesticide-free farming are extremely tasty. This engineer from Vadodara does this farming in coordination with the fish industry.
Further, in aquaponics, the waste produced by fish and other aquatic organisms is used, and in hydroponics, plants are fed with various minerals in the water. This method is coming into circulation as urban agriculture in western countries.
It has been experimented by Electronics and Communication Engineer Shashank Chaubey on the roof of his house in Vadodara city. 700 square meters of roof space has been reserved for this type of cultivation.
In this method, stone, gravel, clay fragments are kept for the root structure of the plant. Ecosystems develop along the banks of these rocky rivers. A plant is raised in a small pond that is a natural structure on the river bank to grow naturally. Now, the fish excreta waste and water collected from the fish tank is piped to this tank.
The plants in the tank absorb the minerals from the water and waste. This water is filtered and returned to the tank. They have built the entire structure in such a way that the planters go up and down in a line.
Although, Shashank Chaubey has chosen koi and golden fish for aquaponics. He has obtained information from the Fisheries Department of the State Government on how to do fish farming.
Both types of fish produce relatively more waste. So it has been selected. These fish are kept in a tank and their waste is separated from it. The latter is used as a plant nutrient.
In the end, he also mentioned that, we can save more water. He uses only 300 liters water in a week. Also, everyone can does this type of farming easily with less water. His aim to turn everyone into this farming.
