Ahmedabad: At Gujarat Vidyapith, students enrolled in the newly launched yoga course are entitled to receive a certificate if they choose to discontinue after one year. A bridge course was implemented to address the credit shortfall in the one-year programme.
Following the bridge course completion in June, students undertook a four-day examination. Students have complained that the results of these exams are yet to be announced.
As yoga gains prominence in India and internationally, the circumstances appear unfavourable for yoga students at Gujarat Vidyapith. The institution provides a two-year postgraduate yoga programme.
The new education policy stipulates that students opting to leave after one year must receive a postgraduate diploma certificate.
The bridge course examinations for four subjects were conducted from June 27 to 30. The administration has yet to declare the bridge course examination results. Gujarat Vidyapith registrar, Nikhil Bhatt, remained unavailable for comment. tnn
