Ahmedabad: Solar PV module manufacturer, Waaree Group, on Tuesday announced that it began work on its advanced alkaline electrolyser manufacturing facility in Valsad. The first phase of the facility will have a 300MW production capacity, reinforcing India’s green hydrogen ambitions.
The plant will feature automated assembly lines and manufacturing processes to ensure high efficiency, durability and scalability. Designed for low power consumption, these electrolysers will enable cost-effective hydrogen production. Waaree secured PLI incentives for 300MW electrolyser manufacturing and 90,000MT annual green hydrogen production under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) scheme.
Aligned with the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the facility will cater to industries like steel, refining, transportation and power generation, supporting their shift to cleaner energy. By localising electrolyser production, Waaree aims to cut import dependence.
