Ahmedabad: The city recorded 267 cases of typhoid, 253 cases of jaundice, 329 cases of gastroenteritis and one case of cholera in Jan, according to the health department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). Eight cases of malaria, four of severe malaria, 31 cases of dengue and two of chikungunya were also recorded during the period. In all, 1,03,523 blood samples and 2,956 serum samples were examined. Besides, 57,377 water samples were tested for chlorine with 274 returning negative results. Additionally, 6,436 water samples were bacteriologically tested and 29 samples were found to be unfit.
