Ahmedabad: A 42-year-old advocate from Maharashtra was allegedly attacked by his client who wanted the case filed against him under the Negotiable Instruments Act disposed of at the earliest.
The advocate was in Gandhinagar on Thursday to attend the hearing.
He and his client went to the Gandhinagar court, and had the documents prepared with the help of a local advocate.
The Maharashtra advocate stated in his complaint that his client informed him that he had, as per advice, paid Rs 50,000 online to the complainant in the case, but did not want to inform the court about the transaction.
The lawyer stated that he refused to pursue the case further and later that night left for the hotel.
The client allegedly confronted the lawyer when he was leaving to catch a bus back to Maharashtra, used abusive language and assaulted him.
The lawyer approached the Sector 21 police station with the accused and gave an application, and later on Saturday, lodged a complaint against four persons.
