Ahmedabad: Four persons, including the general store in-charge of a private hospital in Gandhinagar, were booked for financial misappropriation after a fraud of over Rs 1 crore was uncovered. A complaint was registered at Infocity police station on Tuesday.According to the FIR, Rajdeepsinh Limbola, administration head of the hospital, filed a complaint against Pranav Bhimani, who was working as the general store in-charge. His responsibilities included purchasing products, maintaining stock registration entries and processing bill payments. In March 2025, during bill verification by the hospital’s director, 35 bills from SK Enterprise were found without any corresponding entries in the store register. Further investigation revealed that Rs 11.8 lakh was paid to the company for products worth Rs 15.35 lakh that were never delivered. The company was allegedly created by Bhimani and his father-in-law Suresh Chauhan, who then transferred the money into their accounts.Later checks revealed suspicious bills from another company named Central Surgihub. Most products listed in the bills were not recorded in the hospital’s inventory. The hospital still paid Rs 5.93 lakh to this company, registered in the names of Rajendra Raval, a former hospital employee, and Anand Chaudhary, his associate.Between 2022 and March 2025, several such bogus orders were placed and money was paid without goods being delivered or entries being registered. The fraud amounted to Rs 1.84 crore.Infocity police registered an offence of cheating and forgery under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Bhimani, Chauhan, Raval and Chaudhary.
