Ahmedabad: The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) commenced its three-day inspection at Gujarat University on Tuesday, marking the institution’s first evaluation since 2015 when it was rated B++. A seven-member team visited campus facilities and engaged with students and staff as part of the assessment process. The students complained about the absence of campus-wide Wi-Fi and university-level student leadership. The inspection, originally scheduled for 2020 and delayed due to Covid-19, comes after six months of preparation by GU. The team evaluated infrastructure, academic programmes and student support services.
The visit was marked by protests from students’ union members who were initially denied an audience with the NAAC team.
