Ahmedabad: In the road and building committee meeting held on Friday, a proposal to build a new three-lane minor bridge over the Khari River between Hathijan village and Vivekanandnagar in the eastern part of the city, at a cost of Rs 22.47 crore, was approved.
Currently, there is an existing causeway bridge over the Khari River at Hathijan village to Vivekanandnagar. However, due to its low height, the causeway bridge had to be closed for traffic during heavy rains in the monsoon.
For the past few years, local residents have been demanding the construction of a new minor bridge. Finally, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation approved the proposal to build a new minor bridge, which will feature three lanes.
