Ahmedabad: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport posted double-digit growth in passenger and cargo volumes for the third quarter (Q3) of FY25. Passenger numbers soared to over 35 lakh, marking an 18% increase compared to 30 lakh in Q3 FY24.
Aircraft traffic movements (ATMs) rose by 15%, with over 27,000 ATMs recorded during Oct-Dec period. Dec 22 saw a record 44,253 passenger movements with 324 ATMs, the highest this financial year. Cargo volumes grew by 17% to over 17,900 metric tonnes (MT), driven by a remarkable 300% increase in international cargo.
Infrastructure enhancements, including the Terminal 2 extended check-in hall and inter-terminal electric shuttle service, contributed to smoother operations. Connectivity improved with new flights to Da Nang, Guwahati, Dimapur, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolhapur and Kuwait, alongside additional services to Kochi and Kolkata.
